Freo behaves like a separate town, not a Perth suburb. Preserved Victorian buildings, the Fremantle Markets, the UNESCO-listed prison, waterfront breweries, live music and an arts scene that exists nowhere else around here. It is the bohemian alternative to Northbridge — more daytime than nightlife.
